Talking 12.5k recommended repairs on my R500 !

Just thought i'd share my jaw dropping 'complimentary' inspection report ...

my 2006 R500 with 122k miles and is pampered and all services are up to date.

3000 - transmission valve body - started hard shifting down when engine still cool, in their words "known problem older style unit" ... hopefully this will be covered in my extended warranty. hasn't actually failed yet (limp mode/error codes etc), i started feeling it last couple of drives and asked them to look.
500 - brake fluid return hose ... i concur with this one because i know my power steering was leaking a little (onto driveway)...
1200 - replace both valve gaskets ... apparently they found engine oil leak... cannot be much because my indy did a Service B on the car 3 months ago and didn't say anything about it. and there's no leakage on drive.
2000 - replace rear main seal ... apparently they found engine oil leak... same as above ...
300 - replace both hood struts...because it won't hold the hood up. i have no idea what they're talking about because i had the hood up 3 days ago and i've never had it even showing signs of weakness
1600 - replace whole front right axle assembly - inner and outer boots torn... i'll concur with this because i can feel and hear a clicking on some turns...
1000 - replace windscreen.. because they found a 1/4 by 1/4 inch rock chip in windscreen :|
90 - replace 2 front and 1 rear wiper
300 - replace tranmission mount - starting to wear
200 - perform power steering fluid exchange (based on time / milage) - my indy did this 3 months ago, but not on their records
700 - replace spark plugs (based on time / milage) ...
140 - perform diff service (based on time / milage) ...
170 - perform transfer case service (based on time / milage) ...
225 - replace engine filter (based on time / milage) .. my indy did this 3 months ago but not on their records
450 - perform transmission service (based on time / milage)
300 - perform fuel inspection and decarb service (based on time / milage)
165 - perform cooling system service (based on time / milage)

totals 12100 before taxes...

Everything else (electronics, lighting, airmatic, engine, driveshaft, differential, transfer case, tires etc) were fine, i'd hate to know what else could have added to the above lol.

I love my R class, and i have every intention of keeping it running as good as it should, given it's age, but this 'quotation' is why everyone runs away from Mercs after they're a few years old and makes the cars nearly worthless ...

Thankfully i can do some of this work myself, and my indy can take care of what my extended warranty won't cover for a fraction of this (swinging past his shop in the morning to discuss the items!), but wow, this was a big surprise for sure :P

Anyone else with similar recent experiences?
