engine number issue

engine number issue
Hi everyone
I just imported one mercedes r350 2005 model from japan to mozambique.
I am doing all regular jobs before driving in traffic. It just came with chassis number as official documents(no written engine number in imported documents). Yesterday I went to do insurance company, they found a plate in motor place (already attached to message). shows motornummer 0258755, this is not the engine number? They said no,and told me that should be another one, contact with your provider. I am confused a a little bit.

I think you need the vin number.
