Hard Downshift on 2011 R350 4Matic, 134,000mi

Group,

I've only had the car since 1/15 so I'm getting used to how it feels.
It seems to me that it has a hard downshift based on braking pressure. Is that a feature? If I take a long slow stop to an intersection it downshifts smoothly. If I get on it for a faster stop the downshift is really pronounced almost like I hid the - paddle and forced a downshift. I guess I'm just wondering if it is supposed to do that? I performed the "pedal to the floor" transmission reset procedure but can't really tell if it worked.

TIA for comments and advice, this is a good group from what I've read.

Especially if you don't know the service history, I would flush the ATF. Good time to do differentials and transfer case.

Thanks for the reply. The Carfax says that the ATF filter and oil was changed at 40,263 in Okatie, SC. Then six days later, but no mileage note, the ATF was changed again and a ATF fluid/oil leak was checked in Oklahoma City, OK. THEN the car was serviced in Okatie, SC THREE days later at 40,365 miles!
The car got from SC to OK and back to SC while only racking up 102 miles? I'm thinking Carfax is not all that accurate.

It has 130,000+ now and the ATF hasn't been referenced since 40,365. Might be time again, eh?

Seems like a logical place to start- it's due for fresh fluid anyway.
