Ventilation system

I have an r class 320 and the footwell vent blows all the time no matter which direction switches are set.
Air blows to the screen and sides as it should.
I thought it might be the linkage or stepper motor as it seems a common problem, but when I set it to defog it goes to the screen as it should but it stops blowing in the footwells.
So I assume the motor and linkage is ok.
Any ideas? Could it be as simple as the button or is there more to it than that.
Thank you
Richard

You have issues with flap actuators\AC control module----get a good scan for fault definition, then you can fix!

My footwell didn't blow anything - I did a reset of system, and all OK now.

Press and hold the recirculate and demist buttons together for 5-10 seconds..... I was told I would get flashing LEDs and flapper movement during reset - but I got nothing....
However, everything has now started to work properly.

Hope this helps someone.

Thank you for the reply. When I push and hold those two buttons all it does is direct all the air to the windscreen.
Or is there anything else, ignition on/off etc

Ignition on - and when you push them initially it does "change air direction" depending which one you hit first - but hold them a while... there was nothing obvious happened (no lights, no other movement, nothing....) but when I tried the footwell vents, everything was working.... I'd had no heat there for over a month and my feet were always cold - now fixed (that was over a week ago now) and all still great.

Hi,
i kept trying it and also other combinations and it still didn’t work.
Eventually tried the recirc and the demist but with the auto switch on and it worked. Now have full control over air direction. Swmbo is happy as no more cold air blowing on her feet!

thank you
richard
