steering wheel buttons

Is there an easy way, short of replacing the whole steering wheel, to either fix or replace the covers on the steering wheel buttons? To me it looks/feels like some sort of coating has given up because it peels off (sort of) and feels sticky.

These panels can be changed. I suggest you get a subscription to alldatadiy.com. You will find the procedure for this job and a whole lot of other info. If you do this changeout and the airbag is disconnected an SRS code will need to be reset.
