R350 Intermittently not shifting from P
2006 R350 with approximately 180k miles 722.9 transmission
I have an intermittent shifting problem and any help is greatly appreciated. When i try to shift from P nothing happens, I have tried the reset procedure, tried manipulating the column shifter assy, pulling fuses, briefly disconnecting the battery with no effect. When i open the door I receive a message door open vehicle not in P. The only solution that i have found that works is to disconnect the battery over night, it will then work perfectly for days or weeks. I had it at an independent shop, there were no transmission related codes but said the electrical connector had oil present but was unable to repair the leak. It does not go into limp mode or have a check engine light.

I had experienced that until it stayed at parking mode for good.. Had to tow away the car all for wheels up to the service center. They diagnosed that the automatic control unit was the fault, replaced it with brand new one and programming.
