R500 EIS problems?

R500 EIS problems?
Greetings!!

I am hoping that someone can offer some guidance... left the house this morning, and had to turn around to come back to the house. When I did, I parked the car on the street to run in and grab what I forgot, shutting off the car and grabbing the key fob. Back in the car, and when I tried to start the car, the fob wont turn, and of course, with the car in park, I can't move it either.

One thing of note: the steering wheel is not locked, and I can seem to get a solid answer as to if it is supposed to lock or not. Also, I dont have another fob to try (trying to avoid having to spend $400).

suggestions??

try to take battery out of the key and put it back , do this away from your car .

how would that help? FWIW, when we first got the car, the fob battery was dead, but it would still start the car.

Ended up being a bad fob... but I did get a free EIS module out of the deal.
