HID bulb replacement

So.... I have the bulbs, and my question is this: Do I really have to disconnect the battery? Couldn't I just pull the fuse for the headlights and accomplish the same thing?

You'll be fine. Keep keys far away. But lights on park.
Wear rubber gloves and youll be OK.

.thats what I did in mine.

Thanks for the suggestion. Any reason I need to think about changing the ballasts?

No. Do you have any concerns about them?

Well.. to be honest, I hadn't even thought about them, but when I was talking 6p my mechanic, he said that they might need to be changed. I dont seem to have any issues with the headlights except that they are dim. I suspect that they are the origunL bulbs from 2006.

Indy mechanic?

That frustrates me. Unless you are having trouble with them turning on there is no reason to replace them. Each ballast is probably over 200 each.

There really is no need. I changed hid bulbs in my 00 ml55 and th e ballasts worked great! Same with the 10 gl450.

I recommend the Philips xtremevision bulbs. Not sure if you have d1s or d2s.

If I were you I would buy these hella 5000k. Youll get the most light output value wise. All the way on the bottom and 24$ each. 007949251

Otherwise if you're willing to spend 120 get the Philips xtremevision d2s.

I have them and I love them. They're amazing at night.

Indy mechanic...well Brakes Plus, but I have never had an issue there, and the franchise owner is a pretty straight shooter, and has done me a solid more than once. This was really the first time I have ever questioned his advice, and that is mostly because in my previous adventures last week with my key fob, while I was at the MB dealership getting that resolved, I asked about the lights, and they said bulbs, never mentioning ballasts. They suspect that the bulbs are the original ones, hence why they are dim.

I have already purchased replacements. I got the Sylvania D2S Basic bulbs. I got a pretty good deal on them, but I will book mark your suggestion.
