Hello. 2011 R350 Diesel started showing a CEL and took it into the dealers. It is the Ad Blue Delivery Module that is bad and needs replacing. My understanding is that this is part of the emissions and in no way impacts the engine, drive, longevity, etc. I would like to defer the repair and/or not do it all if it is not needed. $1500.

Any thoughts? Can I defer or skip with no issue other than CEL?

The problem is, if there is a CEL, some other systems won't run like the DPF regeneration. You could probably defer for a while but eventually you'll risk running into problems with the diesel particulate filter clogging - and that's a pricey fix.
