Middle seat will not slide forward

We recently purchased a 2008 R350 7 passenger. When trying to put all the seats down for cargo area we were not able to get the middle seat in the second row to release and slide forward. Any suggestion?
We are very familiar with the car since we had a 2006 R350 a number of years ago. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

there should be a handle at the top of the seat (mine was pushed inside and had to fish it out) this releases the seat back and then another handle at the rear behind the seat low down which releases the base which pushes forwards and down, it doesn't slide as such.

found the one for the seat back re lease - no issues there - and found the one for the seat release but it won't move at all - can see how it works, it just wont go forward at all.

Check out this video.
Don't be afraid to use a little extra muscle.
I had to do the same last time I had to move it up.
I wonder if lubing the latch assembly would make it easier ?
