My R class will sometimes start perfectly but the parking sensors don't come on and I can't select a drive. This usually happens if the car has been standing a while. My local indy MB garage said it was because it had a non-MB battery s I had it replaced. But the problem continues! I travel to France regularly and am terrified that this happens when we disembark the ferry!! Any help appreciated. Thanks

could also be a faulty selector switch,but if it were me i would get a good scan and change mechanics
