08 R350 Tailgate won't close - 974113 & 994513
I am trying to fix all the problems with an 08 R350 that I recently bought (I knew about the problems, I like a challenge, and got a good price). The tailgate won't close using the button on the key fob or the button on the tailgate. You can close it manually. Xentry says the two problems are 9741113, open circuit in the switch and controls illumination of component, S62/26, or its feed line. And, 994513, contact strip 2 (passenger side) for anti-pinch protection has a malfunction.
I've done some research on these codes. I don't find much on 974113. But for 994513, it appears likely that the strip needs replaced. It also seems that these pinch strips can be difficult to source, or are very expensive. So one solution is to use resistors to trick the car.
Is there anything special about these codes being together, that 974113 occurs if you have the failed pinch strip? Anything else I should look at besides testing and confirming that the passenger strip has infinite resistance, and is therefore bad? Any any all advice gratefully received.

Same Issue
I have the same issue and coming up short trying to find p/ns for the obstruction strips. Hopefully someone will answer our posts to help.
I also heard you can add resistors to the connectors to fix the hatch closing issue. I haven't tried this and would like more instructions on how to do it. I'm not mechanically inclined enough to figure it out on my own lol
