2008 R350 ELECTRICIAL ISSUE
Hi Guys, I have a 08 R350 4MATIC with 142K miles. Starting 2021, When I was driving, all the lights were lid in dash, and I made it to work, I turned off the car, then came back from work after 8 hours, I turned the key, the cay had power, radio, ac etc, but the engine would not crank and start. I then popped the hood and wiggled the fuse box, then it started and drove fine. I then went to replaced the main and aux battery at 3rd party shop, after that, the white battery symbol showed in dash, and the same problem cam back during the normal driving. I used the same tricks I did at the first time, it worked on and off, And the car finally died on me on last June, 2022. So this time I towed it to a garage that only does MB for the past 2 decades. ok, they changed the main and aux battery again and the found some stored faulted codes between multiple unit, then the car was live for 5 days, and the same problem came back, key turned, had power, battery was at 13V, but engine would not crank or start. Now this time the garage performed computer scan and still found fault codes in multiple control units for no CAN messages received from M.E module. they swapped another known used good M.E an check for communication present with the known used good M.E. And they said the old M.E is shorted out and faulty. They recommended to replace M.E control module for parts 1100, labor 900, and 199 for satellite coding.
Can this just be a bad connection between the harness or connectors? Because one time I drove a speed bump, and the same problem appeared, all the lights were lid in dash, I made it home and did the same tricks again it worked . but this time I have no luck. I really appreciate for any inputs and ideas from all of you. Thank you
