Android head unit
Currently in the process of fitting (an Android phone) head unit from Aliexpress. You may scoff!
The unit is an 8 core big/little with 8G RAM, 128G flash and 720p screen
Connections are the only hassle. Mostly OK I mean MOSTly OK and CAN 'ACC' source is not obvious, but I have the unit fully functional on the bench, old unit with DVD changer about to come out and the infuriating clips on the heater control well and truly snapped off! The remaining clips hold that part in well enough.
No I haven't damaged the surround as I saw the vids, had the plastic tools and can contain my TEMPER AT STUPID CLIPSS!!!!! AAARRRGH!!!
Pics to come later....

Only problem I have is getting decent FM reception. I posted in that forum here. If someone can tell me if I have 1 or 2 FM fitted, where the tailgate window antenna amp is fed from, or have a connection diagram for the dual fakra and amp, that would be great 😃

I got this one, is this similar to the one you got? I got the 8G one. https://a.aliexpress.com/_msNT01K
How was the installation, is it doable? Thanks.

The unit itself is good and works well. Android implementation a bit flaky, but also all works, just menus disjointed.
A mass of wiring and spare connectors, which I didn't trust, but they are correct. Apparently the R class sold in China.
It looks very similar.

I tried one of those and even figured out how integrate it into OEM Harman Kardon audio amp, bypassing the fibre optical input but wasn't happy at all with its sound quality and radio reception. Ended up putting the original head back in and now use one of them dash-mounted DVRs to give me the rear view when parking and driving.
