SRS Malfunction Codes: 91 C0 91 C3 91C0 91C3

I am having trouble with an SRS malfunction on a 2006 R500. I was driving the car and hit a bump in the road. As that happened the SRS light came on. I scanned it with an Autel scanner I have and got the following codes: 91C0 A component of control unit WSS is defective or not calibrated and 91C3: a component of control unit WSS may possibly be defective or not calibrated.

I took the car to a local Mercedes specialist with a better scanner than I have. I am not sure of the exact make, I believe its an aftermarket star scanner. He read the same codes and tried to recalibrate the weight sensors. Once he did that, the light went out. I drove it about 100 yards and it popped back on. He tried the calibration again and we had the same results. I verified that I have power from the 5 amp fuse for the WSS system. I also verified the ground was good and the harness from the WSS module to the connector at the front of the seat had good continuity.

I then tried replacing the 4 weight sensors and module with what are supposed to be good used ones. After installing them, I cleared the codes and they came right back. I am going to try to have the seat WSS sensors recalibrated again, but I had read that just replacing the parts and clearing the codes should have fixed it, so I'm not sure if the weight calibration will do anything. If anyone has any insight, ideas, or has had the same problem, please let me know. Thanks, Brian.

I went to a guy who has a Star scanner and he zeroed the seat and then recalibrated the weight sensing system and cleared the codes. Since then, everything has worked properly. Hopefully that info helps someone else. Thanks, Brian.

Hi,
How do you find out which seats these codes refer to. I have the same issue and get the two codes 91C3 & 91C0. Thanks
