Newbie question about wheel fitment on my R350?
Hello all, I apologize in advance if the question I am about to ask sounds absurd...............a good friend of mine recently gave me a full set of wheels off of their 2019 GL450. They are 20 inch wheels. I am trying to figure out (based on all of the measurements-8.5 x 20 x ET62) if these wheels can possibly fit on my 2006 R350. I realize going up to 20 inches is a big jump from the OEM 17 inch wheels that are currently on it. But, if there is any way these GL450 wheels can fit, I would like to put them on. They are gorgeous and in pristine condition-and FREE! I can buy whatever size tire would be needed if the actual wheels can fit on my R350. I am not sure if the offset of ET62 will fit on my R350? Can anyone tell me-based on the information I have provided, if these wheels will fit? Or, tell me how I can figure this out?

I think they'll fit. I believe some of the stock R class wheels had offsets that high. If you don't like the look, you can always throw on some spacers...

I've thought about it
I was thinking about going the opposite direction, from 19" on my 2010 R350 to 18" rims for winter tires. I am sure there is a source to determine fitment and how the wheel size would affect the speedometer and other systems. Monitoring this thread.

What size tires are you planning to use on the 20" wheels? There are several online tire size calculators you can use to see what the end result dimensions will be. If you stay with a proportionately size sidewall height, you might encounter interference and/or an undesireable change in driving performance (as well as speedo/odo error). If you compensate for the overall diameter with a short sidewall, you can expect a harsher ride. Have you verified that the hub and lug bolt pattern dimensions are the same? There are many factors to consider. I'd visit a local tire/wheel shop and talk with someone who can provide a thorough consult.
