R-Class OM642 Engine cover Peg/Mount
I asked the local dealer, and they couldn't find it in the parts diagram..
Without it, the engine cover had rubbed a hole in the inlet manifold...
Missing
Not Missing
It was missing when I bought the car, and I didn't give it much thought until I noticed there was a hole in the inlet manifold. I easily repaired the hole, but it's not exactly good for the engine health to have a hole past the air filters and map sensor...
Forgot to mention, it's an OM642 Diesel with 265 hp stock. And, the peg thingy is attached to the lid of the air-filter box.
Oh, and Hi!

I wish I had an answer for you, though I have the same problem with a car that’s new to me. I have none, did you manage to find a solution?
I would appreciate a photo of the stud if you can provide a closer photo?
Regards,
Cam
