Anyone Selling R63?
Looking for an R63. If anyone is interested in just talking, please send me a PM. I'm a very serious buyer.
I would list certain criteria that I'm looking for, but since this car is so rare, I'm open to anything.
Thanks!

Here's a non-CPO model in MO for $46k.
That's 2k less than I paid for mine last year with about the same miles.

I'll copy over the response I wrote on Benzworld:
"Thanks for the link however the dealer isn't willing to work- they refuse to get the car checked out at the local MB dealer. fishy? (I think the owner of the dealer likes the car too much, take a look at mileage on the odometer vs. carfax's last report- dealer also admits he's using it as a daily driver)"

Thank you sir. The anticipation waiting for it to arrive is killing me! I did drive it last week and it was quite intoxicating.
BTW, are your rims 20"X8.5" 265/45/20? The rims on the one I got look stock but the tires read 255/50/19.

I have the 20s - I'll have to check on the tire sizes. I took off the summer ones and threw on some HP A/S in anticipation of snow (which didn't happen), and I can't remember what was on there originally. That will require a trip down to the garage and I am too beat right now - spent the day directing traffic at the CPT Spring Meet and I think I'm done being on my feet for a few hours.

Take your time and take it easy! I was just shocked to see my tires are 19" after reviewing pictures of the car after I got home. I think they might be the S-Class sport wheels (look just like OEM R63 rims but 19 instead of 20). But just from looking at the pictures of the R63 online, it looks like the 20" rims just barely clear the front brake, in your opinion when you get the chance, do you think 19" rims would clear those front calipers? I'm just trying to make sense of my wheel situation before the car gets here. Otherwise I was thinking they stretched 19" tires on a 20 but that doesn't seem possible.

Congrats!!!! I always keep one eye on the R63 forum because it is the rarest of all AMGs and I would have bought one a few years back if only my wife would have let me . . .
For the U.S., the R63 only came with 20 inch wheels. For Europe there was a 21 inch option not available in the U.S. I would definitely have the rims checked by a tire shop upon arrival to make sure the brake calipers clear front and rear with the 19 inch wheels!!! I learned that the hard way when I ordered 18 inch winter wheels for my 2011 E63 and the rears did not fit around the brake calipers (even though my stock wheels are 18 inch). I would not want to find that out in an emergency stop situation. It may be fine but absolutely worth checking. You could also check the owners manual on what winter wheel tire sizes would work and if 19 inch are in there you should likely be fine. I would also wonder how close the offset is on those 19 inch wheels to the factory 20 inch wheels.
In any event, having now one of only 40 to 60 R63s in the U.S. (I am not sure I have ever heard the definitive number sold in the U.S.), you have an obligation to get at least 20 inch wheels back on that beauty. I would go with stock wheels if you can find them at a reasonable enough price since the car is so rare - no need to go aftermarket unless you have to.
In any event, post photos when you get her. Best of luck on what may be the fastest and coolest seven seater ever made!!
Kind regards

Thank you South Ocean.
I'll find out soon enough if my rims are indeed 20s or 19s. I'm thinking about changing the rims regardless to possibly 21" AMGs or 22" concave but we'll see.
Yes it's quite cool to know that there's only 30-80ish (hard to pinpoint an exact figure) of these in the US. It's certainly different from anything else on the market and despite being five years old, I'm sure will still put a smile on my face years down the road. We plan on keeping this car for a long time.
I'll post some photos once it arrives. Thanks!

It's kind of neat to get a little fancy book from AMG once you take delivery. That might have been because I got mine CPO, but I'm not entirely sure. At any rate, the Private Lounge has the US production numbers of all AMG models and there are only 30 - and one guy on this forum had his engine die, right? So that's only 29 left.

Upon doing research the last two weeks I also found pictures of two R63s in a junk yard from an accident. I don't know if they've been fixed up, but it's possible that there's two fewer still. But we also don't know if the guy that bought the dead engine one got it fixed or not.
MBUSA says 44, AMG Lounge says 30, others say other numbers. Who knows what the official one is but it seems to be quite small.

If I recall, the guy here who blew his engine couldn't afford a new one - even subsidized by MB, he was asked to foot $30k (original bill was $60k for a crate engine to be flown over).
The production number I quoted was direct from the AMG Chief Editor at the PL, so I think it's safe to trust it.

I'm kindly going to refer to this 6speedonline list of R63s that have been resold the last few years. The OP has graciously kept track of all R63s on the open market and has so far came up with 33 just in the US, and I added one more to the list on the bottom making it 34. To me it looks like there's at least 34 R63s in the US and this list doesn't account for original owners of the car that still have it, which I believe there is also at least 1 on 6speedonline. For this reason, I think AMG Private Lounge's number is too low and am more trusting of MBUSA's figure of 44.

Regardless, it's still 1 of XX which is still pretty cool.
BTW do you have a direct link to the private lounge production number quote? I can't find it on there.
Thanks!

Alright so the car came in a little over a week ago and does in fact have 19s. The rims are W221 S-Class Sport 19" AMG wheels which look very similar to the stock R63 20" rims. The offset is ET38 and it's 19X9.5 all around. It's quite an aggressive offset and does stick past the edge of the fender just slightly.
Upon arrival we learned that three of the wheels are 19X9.5 and the front driver's is 19X8.5 with 255/50/19 tires all around. What idiots. Luckily my friend has an extra S Class Sport rim laying around that I replaced the driver's front with in the meantime of figuring out what rims I'll get. The 19" rims just barely, and I mean just barely clear the front calipers. It can't get any closer.
I've learned from research that the offset is ET60 and ET48 for the R with 21X9 inch rims in Europe and US are 20X8.5 ET60.
Still up in the air which rims to choose. New AMGs will be a couple grand and at that point it may be advantageous to just spring for HRE, DPE, or ADV.

Don't lose hope on that R63... maybe someday! I'd love to do a meet with any enthusiast with an R. You don't see too many people driving that car because they want to.... mostly housewives!
I'm thinking to get the ADV5SL which has an AMG flare to it while being a 3 piece concave wheel:

Perhaps there's something at the University of Washington looking for someone with a PhD in economics?
I'd love to do an R63 meet up here.
Other wheel options are DPE CS7 and DPE CS5, really trying to go for the concave look on this car.

Yeah, I hope we can find a parking lot with enough spaces! ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Those are a little rich for my wallet - I can buy a new camera for that much green. I did find these on TireRack for $1800 a set:

And one of my distributors should be able to beat that price nicely.

Offset is too aggressive. It'll stick out from the side of the fender:
http://www.goodspeedperformance.com/...ng-the-r-class
MB makes OEM 21" AMG rims for the European R63. Surprisingly fairly priced at $1,045 a piece for AMG rims and at that diameter it's not bad, but not really the look I'm going for. The rims look like:
http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5122/5...a7ac62d2_z.jpg
A251-401-20-02 et60
A251-401-29-02 et48
All rims are 21X9, just different offset for front and rear. My MB parts department quoted $1,045 a piece. (Surprisingly the 19" AMG S-Class Sport wheel is $1,300 a piece).
