Questions About My S 500 Coupe

I have to say that I have owned my S 500 coupe for 5 years and I have never owned a car that I have like so much. The only problems that i have had were due to owner fault concerning the power antenna and an electric mirror. I know have 78,000 miles on the car and my break like sometimes comes on so I'm sure I'll be getting new brake pads on my next trip to the dealer. The other thing that I have noticed is that I'm getting a front tire rub when I am turning into and out of my driveway or a parking lot with a small curb......could this be a sign that my shocks are going or more importantly something in the suspension system.

I have just stumbled onto this site and I'm glad that i found it. Thanks for your help!

I had one but I sold it before I had the issues you mentioned. Do you have bigger wheels and tires set on? If not, I'd have the springs and shocks checked. I just know it's a heavy beast with some glitches on the electronic parts.

Thanks, but...........

I called the dealer and made an appt. to have the shocks looked at........I'm sure that they are shot. It's also due for new brake pads........79K miles and this is the first real money I have put in the car.........can't beat that. I love this car but I do have to say that an '03 CL55 is sure tempting.......... thanks for the advice....

I have a 97 with 105,000 kms. I recently had to 2 broken oil tubes on the "top" of the engine. The symptom I had was a ticking noise, sounded like sticky lifters. The shop suggested I change all 16 of them will I had the valve cover off. One of those 2 dollar parts that scares you! I love my big S coupe as well. The best long distance cruiser I've owned!
