![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I've only had this 1994 coupe for 2 mths and am still finding my way around. There is a yale type barrel lock set into the carpet on the passenger side of the transmission tunnel. I have no key and no information about what it might be. Perhaps some sort of transmission lock?? The car was originaly delivered in Hong Kong then imported to Australia. I think the trans would have to come out to look at it from the underside and I'm not that curious but if anyone knows what this is I'd be most greatful.

Mystery solved
Just replaced engine mounts, so had opportunity to inspect the side of gearbox from under the car. The unit is a cable operated gear lever lock that appears to be an original factiory install. I believe the car may have been delivered new in Hong Kong to a TAA airlines pilot and I am guessing the car may have been left for long periods in airport carparks and neede this extra security. I wonder if I can get a key made to fit?
