Mileometer display problem

I have a mercedes 350 sl a strange pink squiggle has appeared in the mileometer display behind the mileage figures. Any ideas?

Strange indeed. Have you tried scrolling through the display options to see if the squigglies clear?

Thanks for the suggestion, i have tried every display option but to no effect. I'm wondering if anyone out there has had the same or similar problem, i think it may be weather related. I've had the usual boot leaking issues which i believe are common on sl's.

Are you thinking maybe cold or moisture is causing it? If so it might resolve itself. My SL sits in the garage all winter so it does not see the cold.

I have the exact same problem but it is on the temperature readout. It has gotten worse and worse as time goes on. Help.
