1994 Mercedes E200 (W124) + 1996 Mercedes S600 Coupe (C140)
ADS Control Module

Hello guys, I'm new here, I'm from Italy and I'm the proud owner of a 1996 S600 Coupe (C140).
I'm still dealing with the complex ADS suspension system, which I was able to diagnose with a star c3 system.
System has no faults at all and no ADS light present.
However, car feels very stiff in normal riding situations, but if I manually force the damping valves open with the star system, the car immediatly becomes supple and soft as it should.
I also noticed that sometimes when I start the car, ADS light takes a bit more than usual to go off, just a couple seconds more than the others.
Also, sometimes when I start the car warm, I get ADS light on, until I let the car cool down a bit.
When I switch to sport mode, it feels a bit stiffer but not that much, because it's already very stiff!
At this point, considering that:
  • damping valves works great
  • struts are in good state since I rebuilt them all
  • SLS system works great (tandem pump, accumulators, levelling valve and so on)
I start thinking that the main culprit can be the ADS module or some wiring issues.
Anyone has experienced a symptom like this before?
My car is a 1996 S600 coupe (C140) so it has ADS II system.
Any help would be much appreciated guys.
Thank you.
Filippo.
