Cool, congrats Ron.

Can you check something for me? I am getting a mild-moderate vibration in my steering wheel at idle, in gear and when stopped...it immediately goes away when I shift into park. Never had this with my '16 550 coupe, it was dead smooth. My salesperson checked a new '17 sedan for me and it also did the same thing.

Wondering if they changed the emissions parameters for '17 although our other euro '17 vehicle has no such issue, or if it may be due to a glitch in the new 9G trans's torque converter (otherwise the 9G is a big improvement in shifting over the 7G).

I'm in S Fl.

Thanks for your help

Checked my steering wheel in all gears and neutral.
I have NO vibrations in any selected transmission position.

Interesting, the cabs are RWD and the coupes are AWD. Since there's a new AWD transfer case and other changes to the AWD system for '17 (part of the change when they went 9G) the vibration could be coming from it. Very valuable feedback, now that you're aware of this issue, pls let me know if anything changes. Thanks again.

Thus far I have not noticed any vibrations. However I'm coming from an M4 which had a very bumpy ride so I may be immune to those slight vibrations. Heading off to sunday brunch so I'll have another look and let you know.

I have a '17 Coupe and have no vibration. There is a little shuddering with the start/stop system but I always turn that off.

Yeah the star/stop system is not as seamless as everyone claims. I watched several reviews that claimed that you will not notice it but whenever it happens, but for me it's quite obvious.

Thanks.

I have since tested two other new '17 coupes, one was perfect and the other was terrible with significant vibration not only in the wheel, but the seats, floorboards etc.

My car was recently brought in for service and they were able to remove some of the vibration but not all, by removing some tension from the driveline. In addition to the 9G, the 17's also received an updated transfer case and other components which may have created some areas that need attention/adjustment in certain cars. As previously mentioned my '16's wheel was dead still at idle in gear (couldn't tell the engine was even running). The brand new c300 loaner with a 4 banger was also dead smooth...very impressive, but the engine still sounds 4cyl coarse.

On a separate note, the new 9G trans in the 550's is a dream comp'd to the 7G...nice work MB>

Thanks, this issue doesn't affect any of the cars w/7 spd trans. Seems to be certain 17' 550's.
