Any word on 2016 S550
2016 Maybach (note the outstanding paint job may be special ordered on the S-Class for only $24k).
The new GLE was not accessible and looked pretty much like the 2015.
The new AMG GT S was exciting, but we could not get a view of the interior.
There were 3 MB exhibit areas on 2 separate floors of the convention center (one was for Sprinter and some MB vans I had never seen) and a couple of excellent factory reps to answer questions. Excellent and huge show!

The current color offerings for the S550 include "Lunar Blue Metallic". I had not seen that color until the show and then once again on the street in Manhattan (it had just dropped off Larry David at his Broadway show). It is nothing like the pics i'd seen or the MB order site. I thought it was a navy blue, but it had some gray in it and was unique. I hope this pic with the contrasting interior shows it better (taken of a coupe).
MB has done very well with this new model. There were new 550s all over Manhattan, I mean everywhere. It seems to have replaced the traditional limo and the town cars.
MB had a sweet silver like that about 10 years ago. I think it was only available on their two seater coupes. Huge silver flakes in the paint. A designo option. The best silver I've ever seen. The problem with silver is that without that metallic sparkle, it's nothing more than light grey. And that gets more apparent when it's dirty.
I was in NYC back in February. So true on the S classes being all around the city. It was a good sight to see.

Looks like the S550e cannot be ordered with any rear seat packages per the dealer ordering guide (or those pages simply haven't been updated yet to specify if those packages can or cannot be ordered in conjunction with the S550e). They simply make no mention of the S550 on that page 16.

The custom paint is $7,150 and a custom leather interior is roughly $17,000-$18,000. All custom order cars carry a fee of $2,500. The reason the costs are so high is that they are manufacturing the interior one off for your car and the car will be painted in a special process as well.
A custom paint will add 6-8 weeks extra to production and custom leather about 10, if ordering both I would say 12-14 extra weeks to be safe. In cases of custom options and euro delivery we will have to set up the order as a "domestic" unit first and wait for the car to be build before setting it up for euro delivery. This means that you arrange your travel once we have a firm build date. This is to ensure that the custom order doesn't delay the car so much that you arrive in Germany and the car isn't ready.
Pretty sure I will not do a custom interior, but paint now seems a high probability. Thanks again.

The 2016 s550 is scheduled to be released in August in the US. Manufacturing of the 2016 MY began in June and the first shipments to the US are on vessels headed to the US now. Are you in the US?
I have my 2016 S550 coupe on order and pick it up in Germany August 10th....it is actually being produced the 3rd week of July. My salesperson showed me their order bank and they have cars (both customer orders and dealer inventory orders) arriving the last week of July. The changes for 2016 are minimal but either way the current S Class sedan is a GREAT vehicle. I am in Dallas, not sure where you are. Let me know if I can help!
