Tires

How are you guys doing with tires? I'm looking for a '15 or '16 S550 coupe and it seems from the Carfax's that there being replaced around 6k or so. Seems to be more '15's than '16's.

I got 11K out of my POS OEM Conti 5P. I’m so happy now with Michelin PA4.

My S550 Coupe CPO had tires changed at 14,500- has Pirellis on it- would like to AT LEAST get 20k out of a set of tires?

i doubt that you will but I hope you do since I just bought a S550 with new Pirelli P zeros on it.

I drove a CL 55 for 10 years and always ran Pilot Sports on it. I had every generation of that tire and thought the Pilot Super Sport was the biggest leap forward. I replaced the Super Sports with the PS4S a few months ago and thought it may be a little better than the Super Sports but not a sea change. I was getting 16K on my Super Sport rears and about 24k on the fronts.

I also have a Ferrari that had P Zeros when I bought it. I switched the Ferrari to Super Sports and found them to be a significantly better tire in all respects: ride, grip, noise and mileage. The Super Sports lasted about 50% longer than the P Zeros on my Ferrari.

So now I have a S550 with P Zeros. I am really enjoying the handling and wondering how much better it could be if I had some Michelin Pilots on it. I suspect in 10 or 12k I will find out.
