Mercedes C217 4 wheel drive
Still looking to purchase one. I live in FL so 4 WD is something I’m not interested in having. Is their any downsides/problems to having it?
I believe the European C217s don't have it.

In the US all S-class coupes are AWD. Won't really matter to you, though perhaps some control differences in rainy weather. However, because of AWD the coupes here unfortunately do not get Magic Body Control (MBC, see: https://www.loebermotors.com/blog/me...-body-control/).

I have also found that the S65 has ABC rather than the air suspension (which is on all the other S classes). The predecessor CL series had ABC across the board and it is a far better handling system and 4 wheel drive really doesn’t do much in hot climates.
I think the dream buy here would be a S65 that is a few years old so that maybe there is a $20K premium over the base S550 coupe.
