I've been looking for a C217 for some time but the more I look, the more I get cold feet as I just don't see much interest in these cars. I'm in S. FL and all i see is these pre-owned cars being initially offered at a certain amount only to be reduced continually in price. I've seen '16's start in the mid ninety's and soon thereafter be at the mid eighty's. Some I see at MB dealers end up at auction. My concern is that if I buy one and am not happy with it, there is no real market to sell other than thru a trade in at probably a substantial loss. I have a brother-in-law in western NB who owns a car lot and tells me '16's go thru the Denver auction in the low to mid '70's. I had a dealer tell me that he understands that MB plans on eliminating production in the next few years. Anyway, thoughts please.

The S Class coupe has always faced huge depreciation. So if you want a car that doesn’t depreciate as much, buy a Porsche (i did for my wife and she loves it).
No chance MB is ever going to get rid of the S Class coupe. It is their top of the line flagship (ignoring the Maybach). They have had it since 1952 and it drives all of the innovation down to their other models. I had things on my 2005 CL that are still cutting edge today.. Here is a link to the iconic series. https://pin.it/w5yj637foxe5xf
So at the end of the day you have to decide if this is a money play for you. If it is then it is a very bad investment.
