Remote radar detector installs on S-class coupes

I have a Max360 on my S63 Coupe and it basically doesn't work in this car.
The windshield has some type of metallic film that blocks radar and GPS signals. There are two small areas without it - one at the bottom center (for what I think is the car's GPS and/or satellite antenna). There is no good way to mount the detector this low, save for maybe using double sided tape directly on the dash. The other is at the top, just to the right of the rearview mirror, which is where I mounted mine. But when mounted, either the radar sensors and/or GPS sensors are partially blocked. Result is crappy sensitivity to radar and GPS that only intermittently, sometimes never connects. My first Max360 would not connect at all, I exchanged it and this one sometimes connects after 5+ minutes, but loses the signal frequently and often it won't reconnect.
I have a Uniden R3 in my McLaren, which is an excellent detector although it lacks directional arrows. I haven't tried it in the Mercedes yet, but it's sensitivity and GPS connectivity are vastly superior to the Escort so it might work better. If you are thinking about a Max360, unless you really, really need the arrows skip it and just get the Uniden R3 instead.
Anyway the S Coupe and Sedan really need a custom remote radar system in my opinion. Also unfortunately there is no Blendmount option for Mercedes mirrors, I use one in the McLaren and it is really nice, worth the money IMO.

That’s a great point. My toll road transponder and my parking garage transponder will not work in my S class because of the windshield. Also in many states, even if it could be mounted to the windshield, it is illegal. So in my opinion for the S class the only way to go about it is to have it installed properly.

Yes remote system is definitely the way to go in S Class, i.e. MaxCi360 or ALP Netradar DSP (cost effective add-on for their best in industry LIDAR jammers)

My purpose of having a radar detector and laser jammer(K40) is not to be a speed demon but rather to avoid speed traps and overzealous cops.
My personal experience: I was ticketed on a Ohio Interstate for 1(one) mile over the speed limit. I could have contested but I wasn't going to travel to Ohio from my home in Alabama just to prove a point, so I mailed in the fine. The state trooper knew I was from out of state( license plate) and that I wouldn't appear in court. From that point on I vowed to never get caught in a speed trap again. Therefore I always had a K40 installed on all my vehicles.
