'15 AMG S63 Battery
Looking at the above and am told it has a lithium-ion battery which runs around $2400. Was told they last 10 years or so. Any info anyone has on these batteries would be appreciated.

I dont know if we have this or not. I asked MB about the charging graph on the screen, it shows charging when you coast and shows fuel use as you accelerate. I asked that what was charging ? Since we have no regenerative equipment in the car. They said that reading was for euro cars, no we dont have that charging function. So Im not sure what or where this battery is in the car
Any info?

The battery is in the trunk on the AMG coupe. It's not where the CL batteries are (on the right fender side). It's behind the rear seat I'm told. This battery is not for the hybrid. It's the normal starter battery.

Jud chapon is correct. The L-I battery is located in the trunk for both the cab's & coupes. The charging connector is positioned on the inside of the trunk on the left rear fender. The connector can only be used with the M-B battery charger. The battery is for engine starting and must be recharged if not regularly used. The Owners Manual states for periods of inactivity of 6 weeks or longer the L-I battery should be recharged. I personally only go 4 weeks before re-charge.
M-B sells the battery charger that can be used for both Lithium-Ion & Lead Acid batteries. I have one and it works great.

Battery in the 2015 S63 Coupe is behind the rear seats, you pull down the liner at the front wall of the trunk and it is there.
There is no charging port at least on the 2015, I connect a CTEK LiFePo4 charger to the jump terminals in the hood. The + terminal is easy accessible with a sliding cover, the negative terminal is under a plastic cover for some reason, but you don't have to remove the cover to attach it.
There is a 12v outlet in the trunk on the R side but it is switched power to the ignition, and will not charge the battery when the car is off.

I must clarify my previous statement. The charging receptacle on the 2017 CAB'S/coupes for the Ion battery is in the trunk as previously stated. The charging connections for the lead-acid battery are under the hood.

2015 Coupes (at least S63) have the LiFePo4 battery, not lead acid, but lack the dedicated charging port. And yes the charging connections are in the hood like in models with lead-acid batteries... Lithium charger works fine, and should have been included with the car. Using a lead acid charger, which many owners have probably done, is probably unwise considering the cost of the LiFePo4 batteries and charging specifications to maximize longevity. I had hooked up an old Schumacher charger a few time and it always showed 100% based on the voltage at the terminals, so it probably never charged.

Battery a lithium or Lifep04 - 15 S63
What type is the battery in the S63 coupe? I’ve read lithium and lifep04, which some seem to use interchangeably and why they are similar they are not the same. I am going to be charging my battery and don’t want to use the wrong setting to charge it.
currently my whole car is dead and not sure what happened. Sitting in car with everything on then the command/radio shut off, then seconds later my entire dash went off, and was unable to get my car to shut down until it finally sputtered off.
