Cell phones using the external antenna (option 386; Audi Phone Box)

There used to be (is?) an option 386 -- a module which uses Bluetooth to link a cell phone to the external antenna, thus markedly improving reception in troublesome areas.

This is similar to:
1. Audi Phone Box, which wirelessly charges the phone and wirelessly links it to the vehicle antenna;
2. More recent Mercedes models with wireless charging which do the same linking as I understand it.

Does anyone know of a way to retrofit, or of a third-party solution, that would let me accomplish the same with my 2016 S550 coupe and an iPhone? Not sure if this can be done with the C217s from that year.
