Trunk issue

2015 Edition one coupe. The trunk will pop open as it should however it does not raise and I can hear what sounds like a motor running which I assume is what would normally raise/lower the lid. Also after manually raising the lid I can see the red close/lock buttons are not illuminated. It closes and latches manually. Any ideas?

Try normalizing drive unit: Close trunk lid manually. Open trunk lid by pressing driver-side trunk lid open/close switch in door trim and wait until the trunk lid has reached the upper stop. Then hold trunk lid open/close switch in the "open" position for 4 s. May need to several attempts. If this fails, have someone erase stored codes and pull current using Xentry (MB diagnostics) drive unit may need replacement.

Thanks for the input. Further checking indicates that the noise I hear is the trunk latch working as it should. The problem is the drive unit is not functioning. I believe it is a fuse/electrical issue perhaps not directly related to the drive unit as the two red buttons on the lid and the two interior trunk lights also do not illuminate. I have checked numerous fuses however with no joy. Looks like time for the dealer to sort it out.
