I have a 2015 Edition 1 S550 4Matic coupe with 40,000 miles I am going to sell and I am curious how many Edition 1s were sold, where the best place to advertise it, and what I should ask for it.

The special edition cars dont have any additional value. you have to base it on the milage and condition and options. Like kelly blue book etc.

 

Good point on the paddle shifters previous owner might’ve driven it hard. Since the dealer specializes in Mercedes, they should have no problem providing the records you’re asking for.

 

If you cannot confirm that regular maintenance has been done, I would walk away. As noted this could end up costing you a good 20k over next 2-3 years as 100k parts on a flagship car wear out and need to be replaced.

 

I bought one new, the book was giving quite a bit more for it than any other S550 4 matic coupe. You got to tick off every single option, including Designo, crystal headlamps,headed windshield, the AMG wheels. It listed for over 150k, I sold it for 85k, 5 years later. Brought more than any other I’d seen for sale but I’d never seen one quite as option as this one. They only make about 2-300 but will only bring money for a person that really wants one in particular, otherwise it’s a highly optioned S550 that’s a bit different than the rest.
