I am purchasing a 2018 S560 coupe with approx 43k miles, obviously out of warranty....should I buy a 3 yer 36k mile extended warranty I am on the fence, as its in excellent condition, and wonder if it will sail past in the 3years and be a waste I plan on driving it about -5k miles a year, if that...

Any input would be appreciated, this is a big purchase for me and I want to do it right

it all depends on what brand warranyt youre buying
if its a mercedes cpo warranty, probably yes. If its another brand, its a gamble.
I do most of you work and I know alot about the car, so Im not going to buy one. Its a gamble.

My advice. Before purchase, talk to your local Mercedes service department. Ask them which after market warranty companies they prefer to work with. Get quotes from those companies. Ask for a reduction in sale price of car to either fully or partially offset the warranty. I emphasize that it is in your best interest to pay a bit more for a warranty your service department will work with.
