Good evening everyone,

Has anyone encountered this? I have a 2018 S560 coupe, and just out of the blue, the drivers window will not go down. It is fully closed thankfully, but when I push the switch for it to go down, it goes down about a quarter of an i ch and no more. I tried opening all the windows with the key, and all windows go down except the drivers side. I tried the reset procesure by holding the switch up for 10 seconds and then down, and nothing. There is no grinding or sound of any kind, only when I push the switch it sounds lime its going to open and stops after a quarter of an inch.

Any insight is much appreciated, rather than rush to the dealer.

Try recalibrating, close the windows and hold the switch up for 20 (?) seconds then do the same beyond resistance for 20 seconds pushing down.

Thanks I did, and nothing. Searching online, I'm reading it could be a software issue, the drivers window switch, or the motor..that is such a broad window of possibilities, I wash there was a way to update software ourselves..

Sorry to hear that it didn't work, it is certainly possible that the switch is broken, I seen those fail on the S over the years, not saying it isn't possible for the motor but unlikely.

Another suggestion I have is, try scanning the vehicle with a scanner that is capable in reading Mercedes codes, maybe the module stored a code that might help with troubleshooting, you could consider scanners like these: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...onal-more.html

Just want others to know thst it was, in fact, a software update that was needed, so I am happy to report thst rather than switches, regulators, motors, etc.

nice, thanks for the update OP. Weird it was working with the previous update and suddenly stopped working then a software update is needed to fix it... very strange.
