2017 S550 Coupe (C217) to 2018+ Facelift S560 Front Bumper Conversion – Need Exact OE
Hey everyone,
I’m planning to retrofit the 2018+ S560 Coupe front bumper onto my 2017 S550 Coupe (C217, AMG package) and want to do it properly using only genuine Mercedes-Benz OEM parts.
My goal is to achieve factory-level fitment with no warning lights, while retaining full functionality of Distronic, radar, and parking sensors. I’m trying to build a complete and correct parts list before moving forward so I don’t run into issues mid-install.
From what I understand so far, the bumper itself will physically fit, but internal mounting components, sensor positioning, and radar alignment are where things can get complicated.
I’m hoping to get clarification from anyone who has actually completed this conversion correctly.
Specifically:
If anyone has a full OEM parts list, EPC references, or has done this conversion successfully, I’d really appreciate your input.

- Can the original parking sensors be reused directly, or are facelift-specific sensor holders required for proper alignment?
- Which internal components differ between pre-facelift and facelift models (air ducts, guides, mounting brackets, etc.) that are necessary for proper fitment?
- Does the undertray or splash shield need to be replaced, or can the original be modified?
- Are there any commonly overlooked OEM parts (clips, brackets, mounts, sensor housings) that are required to avoid issues?

Whenever I really get in a jam and can't find an answer no matter how obscure the repair I am trying to accomplish, as a last resort I post a question to the "Mercedes Repair Support Group" on Facebook. Just be warned it's Facebook. I do get the right answer every time. Even though I have to go through all the hateful responses from BOTS. It's Facebook.....
