wheels and tires 300SDL

I would like to put some 17" wheels on but dont know what the set back is or if they will work at all? What size tires would still fit and not rub? I have also seen some stuff where people have different sizes from front to rear ie. wider rims and tires in the rear. I think it looks good that way but is it bad for the suspension. How about ride quality with a thinner tire on a 17" rim. Thanks in advance for any info..

17 is a tough size to find anything in. Try Tirerack.com I purchased mine from those guys and they offer a nice product. 18in wheels seem to rub in the back. Also I don't like the idea of spacers on a hub centric wheel, some people run them but I wouldn't.

I think a vintage set of AMG wheels would look nice, they come up on ebay once in awhile. A very nice set without tires should run about $500+/-.

17 inch rims running 235/45/17 or 225/55/r17 is fine and wont rub at all..

i am running 235/60/16 in the rear and 225/60/16 in the front.. having smaller tires in the front ind of improves handling but the same size tires in the rear makes the ride harsh..so i came up with running different tire sizes in the front and rear

wont harm ur suspension as long as the tires are same size both side..
