id have it installed from wherever you buy it from, they may be scary but have the knowledge, tools and supplies to properly hook it up and make it look nice..as well as insurance if they mess up ur car or the new head unit.. you mess it up, you pay for it...i know this dosent answer your question, but id consider it if i were you..its just one of thoes things thats so cheap to have done why bother yourself...they would probaly install for free or a small fee if you were to purchase from them... i prefer to do the work myself also. but heres an example..i had 2 new sway bar endlinks put on my buick, from the auto parts store they are $12 ea or $24 for the pair, for $31 midas muffler shop sold them to me and installed, as i watched...but non the less i got them installed for $7 that was a no brainer..why waist my time...it would have taken me 30 - 60 minutes to do it. i charge 100.00hr to work for someone else.. seems im not out $31 but up $69.00 anyway im shure you get my point here...good luck.....

Crutchfield has some nice instructions for most cars. That fader in the MBs are a pain. If you just wire up the unit thru the fader, I think you lose 1/2 the watts.
