Help with '87 SEC "throttle stuck wide open"

Backed into my garage, backed in to far so I put
it in drive and gave it a little throttle to pull up a bit.
All of a sudden the throttle goes to the floor, blasted
down my driveway across the steeet and through
my neighbors wooden gate before I could get it
stopped. Needless to say I was "shellshocked" after
that adventure.
Can anyone shed some light on what possibly happened?
I checked all the linkage and their joints (lubed them).
It doesnt stick now but I sure am apprehensive about
driving it.
Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks Mike.
