Hi Everyonw!

I would like to say hi to everyone as I am new here to this forum. Despite what my user name is I do prefer Benz's over Bimmers, at the moment I own an 85 300SD, 86 420SEL, 87 300SDL and at the moment resoring an 87 635CSi.

Is the black one the 420SEL? I had one of those before I sold it and my mother gave me the 560SEL. Great car to use on long trip. I drove from IN to CA in the summer but ended up with a clot cat. Too bad the guy in the shop in OK did not want to put a empty thing in to replace it. We don't have smog test here.

Ya the black one is a 420SEL, it rides really good especially on the hiway, I was going to get a 560SEL but recent gas prices changed my mind, Although I have the 4.2 I am really considering converting it to an amg over time.

Why? You have two diesels to use when the gas price is higher. Why worry about gas prices??? LOL BTW, how is the 635csi? That is supposed to be the most powerful V8 for BMW at the time, isn't it?

The 635CSi is actually a straight 6 it does 0-60mph in around 6 secs. and 1/4 in about 15.5. All in all its a pretty nice car handles very well and definatly feel the torque. At the moment its covered in primer finally and I have done the Euro bumper conversion to get rid of those park benches. In about a yaer of so I might consder putting a V12 5.6L out of a 94-97 850CSi (actually goes in without any clearance issues) with a Dodge Viper manual Transmission. As far as the 420SEL goes I'm thinking of a 6.6 in it (convert to AMG) and the 300SD I'm planning as the next project to make some serious power out of it and put in a 240D manual tranny which bolts right onto the motor.

Oh yeah, you're right, I am a bit lost with the Bimmer brand until I got a 740iL for my wife. Anyway, you have quite a plan ahead of you. And good luck finding a 6.6 or whatever AMG engine to fit in. Enjoy the rides.
