Exclamation 'acetone'

Well I was resealing my front windshield with a new gasket because I had a water leak in the top right corner. I put the gasket and also some 'wet seal gasket' that I purchased from NAPA auto store. Well I got it on the windshield and I used acetone to remove it with a rag. I accidentally swept about an inch with the rag on the paint/roof. After I was like wow cleaned the area really fast with water, and I touched it...and it was very 'smooth' and 'slippery'... what did the acetone do to my paint?

Thanks for the replies!
