300sd can't shift into drive
the 1983 300sd has 143000 miles and the transmission has been shifting fine until just today. it shifts into park and reverse fine. when i bring it down to d, it's like it is in neutral and won't engage into drive. anything d and below won't work. what is wrong? is there a vacuum problem? a linkage problem?

Well since the car shifts to reverse, it is not your transmission linkage. Have your mechanic check it out. Check your transmission fluid, make sure its red, and up to the amount it should be. If that dosent do, i think your transmission is out
