Question Timing chain? Need chicago mechanic

Hello, my 1987 420sel is making a loud clicking noise when I start the car. It goes away when it warms up. I've looked at some of the forums and all indications point to the timing chain. if so, does anyone know of a reliable mechanic in chicago. Thanks in advance.

Check your motor mounts to see if they're collapsed. I've seen the engine fan hit the plastic fan shroud that ends up making sounds like this. When the engine is cold, turn the fan by hand and see if it's hitting something. The fan shroud is moveable so check it first.

Mercedes 560SEL
Chicago Mechanic

Just saw this and I don't know if you've addressed it.

Stop by C & H Auto Service on Irving Park Road in Chicago. 773-583-6676. Talk to Carlos. He's old school and honest. He knows me I bought my 560SEL from him. He's done a lot of work on that and my 300SD
