1988 560 SEL
Talking Help, Newbie with questions.

Just bought a 1988 560SEL with 348000 miles. Alot of work has been done, but I have 2 issues. 1) The SRS light stays on all the time. If anyone is from NY, I would be curious if it would pass inspection this way. If it will, I will leave it be. 2) Rear suspension. How do you tell what the rear end has? I have heard of something called hydromat suspension (self leveling?) My car sags a bit in the rear, and does not take speed bumps well. How do I know what I have and how to fix? Thanks

The W126 560 cars have self-leveling hydraulic rear suspension. You probably need to change the nitrogen spheres and flush out the system, and clean the filters/screens. As long as there are no leaks in the system, it will work great.

The srs light could be the air bag contact ring being dirty.
