When you start it cold it has to worm up before you can drive it ore even idle it up. If you don't wait until it warms up it will just stall. When it warms up it runs perfect. I had changed a temperature sensor on a back of the engine block made no differences. Do not see any vacuum leaks, know what?:nixk

When is the last time the car was tuned up? The distributor cap, rotor, wires, spark plugs, or fuel injectors could be at fault.

I would also check the fuel filter and pump.

O2 sensor and idle air valve (if this car has one) are also candidates.

Does the car run rich? Look for soot in your tailpipe. If it's running rich, 02 sensor and temp. sensor are suspects. You said you replaced the temp sensor, did you check to make sure that the wire going to it is functioning properly? Is it getting the proper voltage? Problem you are describing is a typical temp sensor symptom.

Also, vacuum leaks can do weird things on MB cars. I would definitely go through vacuum hoses and make sure there's no leaks. A vacuum gauge will also tell you if somethings up.

Also, check to make sure the EGR valve is actually closing all the way. EGR opening up too soon will stall a car out easily.

Good luck! Let us know what you find.
