hard core rust!
hi, i need to do some wealding on the drivers side rear jacking point, it just fell off and after looking i noticed i need to replace more than i thought!
part of the sill
wheel arch
and another joining part that i cant think what to call, ?? floor area??
do i need to fabricate my own metal to replace?
what metal should i use?
where could i get it from in England?
this is a scary job i will have to learn fast!

The easiest way would be to find a parts car that has good metal there and just remove it.
Other than that, take a piece of the good metal near the area you need to cut and bring it to the metal supply shop to have them guage it for you.

Has anyone thought about using aluminum as a replacement for rusted away pieces. MB used a lot of aluminum on the C126 to save weight, and it does not rust. Seems like it would be a good replacement for non-structural sheeting.

How you gonna attach it? Can't weld dissimilar metals to one another....
