question about a label on the pass. valve cover

hello all,

I have a 89' 560 SEL and I just saw this: http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo...eat=directlink
on the side of the valve cover, does this indicate that the engine was re-built at that time, or is it a meaningless sticker?

i believe that is stock that way. I have it on my 420SEL and I have seen it on cars at the junkyard.
