Wheel Help!

Noob here, and I just came across an opportunity to get a set of BBS RS (older basket weave style) and I need HELP

Guy says he has had them in storage for years for an older guy that passed away, anyway here are the specs:

Fronts 8.5Jx16 ET22
Rear 9Jx16 ET21

Will these fit on a 1985 W126 380SE?? I just got my 14 inch bundts done a couple of months ago, but after seeing these.....well you know.

My only day i can do the deal is this Thursday. I humbly bow to those with greater knowledge on this subject than I.

those are some really rare wheels, you should just pick them up just because of the fact that they are rare and if they dont fit you can easily re sell them...

My main concern to using these wheels is tire width. I have been told that the wheels will fit, but what's the trade off? 225-55-16 was suggested for the front, but no answer on what I can use for the rear, with ranges all the way width-wise of 245! I never had anything that phat before, not even back in the vw days once upon a time. Couldnt I just put 225-55-16 tires all around?

The et on the 15" MB wheels is 21.5 so I'd see no problem with the ET on these wheels.
At present I am running 17's on an 89 420SEL with an et of 37 and have no rubbing problems.

Hey Jax,

If I were you, I will buy them for the rarity and quality of BBS. They look as they are going to fit. Tire wise I dont think a 16 inch is too much of trade off. I think 225/55/16 is a good size choice, but make sure you buy a used tire and check it al the way around and see if you like the gap before investing into 4 new shoes. Hope this helps, let me know if you need anything else.

BTW, if you go with them U have to post pics 4 us to see. Good luck!

BBS RS WHEEL UPDATE!

Ok, I went to go see the seller yesterday.

He has TWO sets of staggard wheels, BBS RS.

Set I bought is

BBS RS 078 16x9 ET11 (3 inch bucket w/lips) for the rear.
BBS RS 133 16x8 ET21 front.

Apparently they were originally on an R107. Appear in decent shape, lugs included. Needs polishing and the tires were shot. I put them on the car to see what they look like and they fit perfectly. Not sure now about the look, i like it, but its more aggressive then I was expecting. Not sure how the other half will like it once i find some tires. Sorry, no pictures - dumb camera battery

The other set were the sizes and offsets when i first asked my question on this thread. I researched these numbers and have no idea what these wheels go to:

BBS RS 296 16x8.5 ET22 (to a w129)
BBS RS (if i remember it was 022?) 16x9 (belongs to a BMW) this set is completely mismatched? I cant find my notes on this, will post later.

He also had a body kit sitting around from a W220. front and rear bumpers, side skirts. Manufatured by Dynamit. Never heard of em. All of this stuff was at a warehouse and the owner passed away some years ago. They are now just moving out this stuff he had.
