I have a 1985 380 Se, 200000 miles. It use to start fine when cold, but terribly hard to start when hot. Just spent 900.00 at a local shop to fix the hard start problem, now very hard to start when cold and hot.

They replaced the warm up regulator and fuel pump check valve, and it did not change my problem, actually made it worse.

Can anyone help with what is wrong and what needs to be replaced.

Mine has been doing the same thing for some time now. I will advise if we finally get the correct fix.

I would replace the ignition coil. If it is old the electrical properties break down , usually hard hot start first. Then gets worse. For the $60 or so on line it is worth the risk of being something else.
