A few months ago, my Grandfather passed away and my Grandmother has been getting rid of some things. She mentioned to me that she was going to donate the 86 560SEL my Pops had and I told her I'd take it. Now I don't really know anything about these cars except that they look pretty sweet.

My daily driver is an 05 Audi A4. I work on it mostly myself for the simple things and have a guy who does the big things. Now the 86 is a different animal due to its age and different make. My question is, what can I expect from this thing? What should I immediately have checked/changed/replaced? I'm a total noob to these cars and would appreciate a little guidance.

Such as specifically? You're a bit too general. What condition is the car in? How many miles? Any current problems? Have you had diags from a INDY MB tech performed? Does it start & run; how long sitting, etc............. You WILL find endless posts regarding the W126 here but it will serve you better if you attempt to address specific issues
