560 sel smokes after going down hill.

Hi fellow human being, I have a 91 560 that runs really well except after going down hill, after going down hill and I hit the accelerator it stumbles a little and a smoke plume look like a A-bomb just dropped. I had a BMW 2002 that would smoke WHILE I was going down hill. Caused by a bad valve seal design. I don't understand the not smoking while I'm going down hill only when I press the accelerator. Why doesn't it smoke while going down hill if it is valve seals or guides? Thanks

Where to start? The Italians or the Germans?
One of our 560sel's (either the '85 or '86 I don't remember) smokes also. The shop said it was the... valve seal or the head gasket? Either way, it was about $5000 to do the repair (which we haven't done because spending that much money on a W126 that never gets driven, just isn't worth it unfortunately).

I just drove home and I decided to put the car in neutral going down the hill. So the car was basically idling....press the accelerator cloud of smoke. There should have been normal vacuum. I also was driving at 45 mph and let off the accelerator should be a high vacuum situation hit the accelerator clean. It seems to me to have something to do with being on a incline nose down. Windage from the crank throwing oil in the front cylinders?

Quite a few:)
How many miles on your SEL??

If you are pushing 200 you Need valve guides..if less you can likely get away with a fresh set of seals.
